For a number of reasons – work and personal – I’ve not kept this blog up to date. So, it comes as a bit of a shock when typing this to be reminded that this concert was over a year and a half ago.

The reason that this work keeps recurring is that – despite being a Requiem – it has no overtly religious overtones. For someone who went from regular churchgoer to atheist in just a few months, a question I have very occasionally been asked is ‘how can you sing religious stuff if you don’t believe in god?’

My response is usually: how can you claim to believe in god and yet not follow the basic tenet of any religon – do as you would be done by?

Hubby – who rarely attends concerts – attended this one, and was as impressed as he usually is.
